Kurt Schwitters: Development
For this development shot I had used a series of images from my observation shots black and white series of Photographs I had taken in inspiration of machines. I made this collage as part of Kurt Schwitters's work bassed on the ruins of World War 2.
I made this collage of 3 layers from my photographs which I had placed in Observation shots 1. All of the layers are images I have photographed myself. On this image I am pleased with they way I have blended the black and white images together to create a balance of textures of paper and images. |
The two development shots I have done are very similar as I created them in the same way. This is a series of photograph developments which have been formed into a layer collage. But for each of these I have included a triangle of different colour of light in inspiration of Kurt Schwitters collages. I made these two images to express my interest in black and white images also because I believe it reflects my ability to construct a positive ascetic image also because it is similar to Kurt Schwitters images. I built up by collaging 2 to 3 different images which differ from internet images and my own photography. I dissolved each image in a different way where I changed the colour and then flattered the image. I used the hexagon lasso tool and selected a triangle and then edited the colour. I have a better knowledge of how to use different tools on Photoshop.

This is a layer of many different photographs which I have taken and collected from the internet. I made this image to explore the idea of collage and from modern and vintage. which is reflected from the machine indicating modern and the vintage writing in the back which reflects vintage. I explored different techniques on Photoshop which further my knowledge. I then filtered each image. After I merged the 3 images together using different effects. I am pleased with the overall look of my photograph collage, I believe that a positive aspect of it is the triangle which I think it looks like a shard of glass which adds a range of textures to the photograph. I feel more confident on exploring effects and filters on Photoshop by realising that this photograph collage work out and looks good. This has helped me further my knowledge about Photoshop and how to use it.

With these two images I have edited them and created them in the same way of which I had for the other photograph collages. But it differs in a way by I have identified it as looking dull when it was in the colour of black and white. So I decided to change the colour scheme of both of these collages. In the far right one I had edited the image to have one side black and white and having the other side in a more colourful filter. I did a similar photograph collage to the far left. I discovered whilst doing these images that I can edit images in a different way on Photoshop this has now furthered my knowledge even more.
